Our History
1963 - Bonded Frozen Foods was formed by Arthur Oppenheimer and Ernest J. Voigt with a handful of distributors and suppliers. Bonded Foods provided foodservice distributors a private label program for premium frozen fruits, vegetables, and potatoes through forward warehouses.
1986 - Company name changed to Golbon as we transitioned into a full service, broadline purchasing and marketing group for independent foodservice distributors.
1987 - PrintSmart was formed to assist distributors in marketing themselves.
1989 - Golbon Training Services was formed to assist distributors in training their associates.
1993 - Developed an annual week-long trip incentive program for members earning enough points to exotic and desirable world locations.
1995 - Golbon Protein Advantage was formed to assist distributors in purchasing center-of-the-plate products.
1996 - Developed an annual trip incentive program designed to recognize and reward top Golbon distributors' sales and merchandising associates.
1998 - Golbon Logistics Services was formed to assist distributors in securing the best possible rates.
1999 - Golbon joined IPAP, the industry's largest buyer of refrigerated products.
2003 - Golbon Brand Produce was formed to assist distributors in purchasing produce at the best possible price.
2006 - Golbon Convenience Store Services was created for convenience store distributors to maximize their foodservice purchases and develop purchasing and marketing concepts to further their growth.
2008 - GoldStone Brand was developed to assist our convenience store distributors with a brand they can develop with their customers.
